BLOODLETTING IN THESE HILLS (formerly Coal Creek)

More than 7,500 strikers walked out of more than 90 mines in the Paint Creek and Cabin Creek coal fields of West Virginia during the bloody 1912-1914 labor war.  Bloodletting in These Hills is the story of one family caught in the cross hairs of that struggle.

Centre Stage - South Carolina mounted a fine production and excellent promotional video in 2010.  Since that time the script has continued to be developed and changed but the heart is the same.  The current script is titled: BLOODLETTING IN THESE HILLS.

Her father has died the night before and Margaret calls together family members and friends for a burial that must happen this night and must take place on the family property.  By the end of the day certain family secrets are revealed and others are more deeply buried than ever.

An itinerant West Texas preacher has settled into a comfortable new life preaching and raising money on the internet when a visit from a person from his past takes him on an unexpected journey.  In turn she is introduced to a calling she never understood.
